ABOS - A unique collection of annotated biological samples for translational research

ABOS cohort (Biological Atlas of Severe Obesity) is a collection of metabolic tissues (liver, muscle, visceral and subcutaneous adipose tissue, intestin) and blood samples (plasma, serum, DNA) collected as part of an ongoing clinical trial. (NCT01129297 )
The objective of ABOS cohort is to allow the identification and validation of new molecular biomarkers associated with obesity and its comorbidities, esentially Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis
